Amazing
Wow. Great man. Great interview. You want to find somebody who's against war? Ask anybody who's been to war. He describes approaching war with reverence and somberness. That is so well said. As long as there is evil, war is necessary,, but let us not forget who pays the price. It's not the politicians.
I was next door neighbor with "Bud" & June- in Miami in the 80s when I was very young & was friends with his grandson Lamar. Such great neighbors. It was obvious Bud had been through alot 😢 Its something to hear these stories of what he went through. R.I.P.
Lord please bless his nightmares and allow him to get off medications. Also, please preserve his life, we need him big time, healthy. Let these years be golden here on earth, and the ones to come platinum. Please bring more of these to attention and allow Americans to be able to use the info well. Not just here, but around the World of Yours. And ours. Amen.
Ernest is a good man the two doing the interview suck makes it hard to watch
What a Blessed and Good American Soldier ,Thank You Sir for your Service. How you went through life is inspirational .GOD Bless You SIr🇺🇸
How do you get classified as 1A after two years of college? Why did you not retain a 2S deferment and continue your education at a 4 year school?
Great man
You do a Great job at the King Center. Your Mother would be proud of you.
Sobie was a good friend. He never forgot his home of Meriden and in particular the Boys Club that he grew up in. Sobie made a memorial gift to the now Boys & Girls Club of Meriden that will change lives for many years to come.
God Bless. We need more Sumners!
Please, does it really matter who you are, Mr. Bruckner, or wouldn’t it be more appropriate the subject of the interview be announced first and foremost?
Thanks for your service! Everyone please remember the ones that didn’t make it back home!
This guy is a comedian: give these interviewees a glass of water for Gods sake: everyone coughs like a mad hatter!
Interviewer sucks. Check his own interview and find out why. Same for the other dude (Joe) : in the rear with the gear, no action guys.
"The Red Cross painted on our building was just used by the VC for mortar target practice." Sorry, tried not to chuckle out loud when I heard you say that.
Doubt Virginia reads this, but I went to the former Marine base hospital on the beach, ( now a VN military hospital but open to everyone) for a cut, infected ankle and moto burns. It's doing okay, not the best hospital in town but still good. I met a Vet who coincidentally had been shot in the ankle and went to the same hospital in 1966 or sometime very early on his first patrol. New Zealand medical teams still regularly do free consultancies there but at Quy Hoa hospital, have done since the war. Even treat foreigners - there were only 2 when I was there.
Could this be any more naive and right wing?
I watched it and can say Thank you for your service ..3 X !!! I learned a lot from this interview... What a courageous man !!!👍
Ah, you’re a kid! lol. I’m 50 with a 6yr old! I’ve never enjoyed a story as much as I just did yours. Peace be with you.
Momma gave me a hug I unhooked her bra grandpa took her panties off we both hu mped her all day she was drunk. Grandpa got momma pregnant several times ❤
Who cares about siblings, age gender what the F just get to the story
You didn't give your up at 17[18 years old like many have had to do. This is a history documenation, Guess you can pretend Vietnam didn''t hsppen or is the past so forgt it, well for many it will never be a Past event so just get over yourself.
Mr. Peterson is an amazing story teller. Breathtaking interview. Thank you for sharing it and thanks to Him for his service.
Thank you for service and your compassion for all the wounded victims. You have a great heart and may God bless you.
Thank you so much Tom for your sacrifice... What an amazing interview!
🙏🙏🇺🇲❤️🙏🙏👍🇺🇲❤️
Superman! Thank you again for your sacrifice for our benefit. I did not realize this interview was in three parts.
Sounds like Joe Galloway. I didn't know he passed away a while ago until recently.
Thank you Robert for your service. I have enjoyed hearing your story. I am grateful!
Just happened upon this I think this is the best one I’ve heard in a while

Something is not right with this if you really pay attention.
Great man. Excellent interview! Thank you for your service.
Great Story!
What an outstanding individual. OORAH ! USAF 66-70
how does he not have a silver star?
My brother dated this nurse while stationed in Vietnam he said she was very nice but that she only let him hu mp and cu m in her squeezed armpits
An outstanding individual ! OORAH ! USAF 66-70. TAC
A MAN OF HONOR AND DISTINCTION. THANK YOU, SIR.
What a decent guy. (Unlike Ho Chi Minh who adopted a pseudonym "Man of Light" just as so many Democrats in the US do.)
To Mr. Mitchell, a great day for your service today. A talent that today the Military could use well.
King I bet got his ass back and was doing aerial coordinates at the 101 Airbourne Headquarters pretty quick. The VC took the damn Chopper pad over.
King is really one of the 5 top Vietnam Vet interviews. Man is the real deal for a CPT. If still going best to you today.
Great this troop made it home. Great soldier and I think the man also talking is a Vet, that is a retired Lawyer? If so your story was great also, you knew he was in the mess.
I said it's Memorial Day and many should be watching these today. Search and Destroy day in and day out. If you got set down in Central Highlands man, you were in for wicked humps. Chu Chi in spring of 68 the B52 went up and down and basically stopped another Dak To. This man is very right, you will never be as close again as to that man you fought next to. You fought for him.
All the cheap equipment was compliments of McNamara! He had it all down to a number and a price tag! Of course not his paycheck, that was spot on!
C's they were called and the jags in the rear always took the best to trade for etc. Tells u a little about it all right there.
Loved your story about the "10 yards" delay until you raced your son!
Robert Ledford - thanks for telling us all of the details about your time in the Army and what followed after that. You and your wife are exceptional people, and it sounds like your daughter is as well!
